6 Cheap meals a college student can eat besides Ramen noodles
Even though ramen noodles can be good at times, they aren’t good for you. It is critical that you eat a balanced diet with some sort of protein while you are studying. Protein is important because it stabilizes blood sugar and improves focus.
Here are 6 low cost/high benefit meals.
Veggie Omelets - You need spinach, onion, egg, cheese, butter and oil
Steel Cut Oatmeal (add butter/oil, milk, crushed mixed nuts (make certain the mix has pumpkin seeds, which have many nutrients, and cranberries)
Spinach Salad (Spinach, cheese, onion, nut mix (above), oil and vinegar). You can add canned tuna or other protein.
Fried Rice (brown rice, veggies, onion, egg, store bought teriyaki)
Stuffed baked potato (or sweet): add toppings…cheese, veggies, butter, etc.
Soup (very easy… buy chicken base and add whatever you you want….rice, carrots, celery, onion, rotiserie chicken breast).
I’d also get a bag of apples and clementines.
All of this would cost less than $40 for the week and will provide you with adequate nutrition.
