HBCU Student Becomes First Rapper To Grace Cover of Sports Illustrated
When Megan Jovon Ruth Pete, better known as Megan Thee Stallion was a student at Prairie View A&M University in 2013, she probably didn't think the freestyles she was uploading online would turn into being the first rapper on the cover of Sports Illustrated less than 9 years later.
A clip of Meg battling against an opponent in a cypher went viral. That exposure led her to prominence and she is one of the biggest artists in the world right now.
She is finishing her degree in Healthcare Administration at Texas Southern University.
