Authors and best friends Janae Cheyenne and Shanice Farmer sat down for an exclusive interview with HBCU Grad. In this wide ranging conversation, Janae and Shanice talk about their HBCU experiences and why they chose the schools they chose. They also talk about their experiences as cheerleaders and sorority members. Since they have been best friends since childhood, they speak on how to maintain a friendship for over a decade. Around the 30 minute mark in the interview, Janae and Shanice go in depth on the book writing and publishing process. They go on to talk about if their children will have to go to HBCUS, the feedback they’ve received from readers of their respective books, and how important it is to be vulnerable in literature.
