Kanye West's Mom Was An HBCU Grad

Kanye West’s mom, Donda West, graduated from Virginia Union University in 1971. While at Virginia Union, West was the president of the Alpha Eta chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

Ms West got started teaching English in the 1970’s at HBCU Morris Brown College. She eventually became the department chair.
